The last few months for me have been nothing but work work work, I had the opportunity to go and fish a private dam on a mate’s property to scratch the fishing itch. The dam we fished was huge, and over 30m deep in some spots.
We jumped in the car and headed North of Adelaide. Arriving to the dam I noticed the water was low, under half capacity. I grabbed my Inflict INF-4-F70 2-4lb tied on a Megabass X-DAD and flicked it out. We were expecting big things as the owner showed us his brag board of what he had previously pulled out of the dam in the summer months. Easily 200 casts later we had failed to raise a fish.
When entering the property we drove past his yabbie dam, A small shallower piece of water compared to the big dam we thought we would try before heading home, a few casts in and I was hooked up to a nice sized redfin. The X-DAD was the perfect lure for this dam as the redfin would be feeding on his yabbies he stocks in there. My choice of colour was a more natural colour as the water was clear and the sun was high, the X-DAD in the Craw fish colour. 15 minutes produced 4 good fish, 2 for me and 2 for my mate Mark.
The Samurai rod once again doing what it does best. If you are after a quality rod for a pocket friendly price check out the entire range of Samurai Inflicts, there is a rod to suit most fishing situation.
