With the tuna scene in full swing down here in SA it was a great chance for me to head out and stretch my arms and my Samurai Reaction. With the weather predicted for near perfect conditions it left me no choice but to hook the boat up and head south down to Victor Harbour. I got to the ramp around 5am, thinking I would beat the mad rush…. Half of SA had the same idea.
Not being to familiar with the water down there I opted to not launch till I had a bit of light so i can safely head out to where the tuna had been running the last few months. I traveled around 16kms offshore, it wasn’t long before I started marking up schools of bait on the sounder. I had my selected tuna lure tied onto the end of my Samurai Reaction 532 and flicked it out. Trolling for tuna is the most effective way to catch these prize fish down here. It wasn’t long and the Samurai had line peeling out hard and fast through the Fuji guides.
People have a perception that you need a broomstick like rod for chasing these powerful fish, the Samurai Reaction 532 is the complete opposite, with its fast action action the rod gives you the ability to see your lure swimming through the rod tip but once connected it has the power down below to land that trophy fish. If you are a after a great quality rod for any style of fishing check out the Samurai Rod range and your local stockist. Once you own one you will be kicking yourself you didn’t buy it sooner.
