When using stick bait lures anywhere it pays to select the correct fishing rod for the fishing technique. On a recent trip with Nomad, I found using stiffer rods can sometimes result in the lure being pulled from the water and cart-wheeling, resulting in less active time for the lure and a frustrating day fishing.
Using a rod with a softer tip results in a more forgiving action for the lure, essential for this style of fishing. Less time cart-wheeling means more time fishing and this was a great GT was landed on the Samurai Pop 10.
This is a light, strong and comfortable rod with its more forgiving tip perfectly suited to casting stick baits at marauding GTs on while still maintaining the bottom end strength to get them to the boat.
